The measure of a fellowship is not what it does at conferences. It is whether anybody comes when you are burying your mother. The Constitution puts obligations on this Association at the moments that matter in a member's life, and this page is where they are announced.

Weddings
A member celebrating marriage (traditionally, by court wedding or white wedding) who formally invites the Association receives a gift raised by freewill donation from members, with the Executive Committee augmenting where members are slow to respond and funds allow. The greater of eighty per cent of the freewill donation or ₦25,000 goes to the celebrant, and where both intending spouses are members, the greater of eighty per cent or ₦50,000. Delegates are sent to represent the Association and present the gift.
To qualify, the celebrant must be in good and regular standing (an active participant with dues up to date) and must notify the Association officially at least one month before the event. Support is given once, for one of the listed kinds of wedding.
Bereavement
Where a member loses a spouse, a child, a parent, or a sibling in the case of unmarried members, the member is entitled to a token on behalf of the Association to their family, raised by freewill donation. Where a member of the Association dies, both a freewill donation and additional support from the Association's purse, as decided by the Executive Committee, are given to the next of kin. Delegates are sent to the event and the cost of logistics is borne by the Association.
Other Celebrations
The Association joins members for child dedications, house dedications, book launches, inaugural lectures, marriage anniversaries and thanksgiving services. Subsequent invitations from the same member carry no additional token unless the Executive Committee ratifies otherwise.
Critical Situations
In critical situations or emergencies deemed justifiable by the Executive Committee, support may be rendered to a member by freewill donation or from the Association's purse.
